Case Study 02 — E-commerce & Digital Storefront

The Client
A family-run jewellery manufacturer and retailer with a loyal customer base built over two generations, historically selling through in-person relationships and WhatsApp Business catalogs — a common model in the trade, but one with a hard ceiling on reach and scale.
The Challenge
The business had strong demand but no digital storefront: every enquiry was a manual WhatsApp conversation, every order was tracked in spreadsheets, and there was no way to accept payments, showcase full inventory, or reach customers outside the promoter's existing network. Growth was capped by the founder's personal bandwidth.
The Approach
- Structured discovery to translate an informal, relationship-driven sales process into a digital flow without losing the personal trust that drove repeat business
- Figma prototypes designed around trust signals specific to high-value purchases: certification badges, hallmarking details, appointment-booking in place of instant "buy now" pressure
- SDLC-governed build with staged releases: catalog + enquiry first, full checkout second, once the client's team was comfortable managing digital orders
The Solution
MFA built a digital storefront that preserved the consultative buying experience the client's customers expected, while adding e-commerce fundamentals: searchable catalog, wishlist, appointment scheduling, and a WhatsApp-integrated enquiry flow so the sales team could keep working the way they were used to — just with a proper system behind it instead of scattered chats.
The Outcome
30%
of enquiries now originate outside the founder's personal network
4
new markets/cities reached in first [X] months
25%
reduction in time spent on manual order tracking
We didn't want a generic online store. MFA understood that people don't buy jewellery the way they buy a t-shirt, and built around that.
